Travel Guidelines for Various Countries
Argentina: U.S. citizens can enter Argentina provided they can present proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours. A subsequent PCR test is necessary for all travelers on their fifth day in Argentina. Before their flight, travelers must also complete a sworn statement online. Unvaccinated travelers, including minor children, entering Argentina must undergo a seven-day quarantine. Additionally, travelers arriving from any African country will be mandated to undergo an antigen test upon arrival and a 14-day quarantine.
Belize: U.S. citizens and other foreign tourists are permitted to enter Belize, with varying entry requirements. All travelers heading to Belize must demonstrate proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours. Tourists will be limited to using approved Gold Standard hotels and tour operators, with pre-organized transportation. After February 15, all visitors will need to purchase health insurance.
Bolivia: Bolivia’s quarantine and travel restrictions differ from city to city. All travelers must have proof of medical insurance and a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before their flight, depending on their point of origin. Regardless of vaccination status, a mandatory 10-day home quarantine is in place. Travelers must disclose their quarantine location in a sworn statement and undergo a PCR test on the seventh day of the quarantine period.
Brazil: Foreigners, including U.S. citizens, are permitted to travel to Brazil. All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR test. Unvaccinated travelers are subject to a five-day quarantine and must undergo testing again at the end of this period. Additionally, all travelers must complete the Traveler Health Declaration before their flight.
Chile: Chile reopened to foreign tourists in October. All travelers must present proof of vaccination, complete the Affidavit of Travelers, and apply for a Mobility Pass, which may take up to four weeks to process. On arrival, all travelers undergo PCR testing and must quarantine at a hotel or private residence until they receive a negative result. Non-resident foreigners from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, or Mozambique are not allowed to enter Chile.
Colombia: All travelers aged 18 and above must be fully vaccinated to enter Colombia, along with completing an online health form within 48 hours of boarding. Travelers not yet fully vaccinated but who have received at least one dose can provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours as an alternative.
Costa Rica: Costa Rica has opened its doors to all U.S. citizens, with no requirement for a negative test or quarantine. Only unvaccinated travelers must show proof of medical insurance and complete an online epidemiological form. Immigration officials have the authority to determine visitors’ stay duration based on their insurance coverage.
Ecuador: Ecuador is open to all foreign tourists. Travelers must provide a vaccination card and a negative PCR test taken within three days before arrival, or proof of recovery from COVID-19. Symptomatic travelers will be tested upon arrival and, if positive, must isolate for 10 days. For visiting the Galapagos, tourists need proof of vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of departure, along with a transit control card. Travelers from specified countries will not be allowed to enter Ecuador.
Guatemala: All foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, may enter Guatemala with proof of vaccination and a negative test taken within 72 hours of arrival. No quarantine is required. Guatemala has restricted travel from certain countries.
Honduras: U.S. citizens can enter Honduras, with unvaccinated individuals required to present a negative test taken within 72 hours. Travelers must also complete an immigration pre-check form and carry printed confirmation.
Nicaragua: Nicaragua does not impose travel bans, and most airlines have resumed service. U.S. citizens can enter Nicaragua with a negative test result and do not require quarantine if asymptomatic.
Panama: Vaccinated travelers need only show proof of vaccination to enter Panama. Unvaccinated travelers from the U.S. must present a negative PCR test before flying or be tested at the airport, with a potential 72-hour quarantine. All travelers must sign an online affidavit before their flight. Panama has suspended entry from certain countries.
Peru: Peruvian airports have reopened for international travel between Peru and the U.S. All travelers aged 12 and above must provide proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours, along with signing a health affidavit. U.S. citizens are exempt from quarantine requirements.
Uruguay: U.S. citizens can enter Uruguay with proof of vaccination and a negative test within 72 hours. Unvaccinated travelers must self-quarantine for at least seven days. Health screening, proof of health insurance, and an Online Health Declaration Form are required on arrival.
Venezuela: Americans with a visa can enter Venezuela without quarantine but need a negative PCR test within 48 hours of arrival.
